Marian Condruz, "The Eye of the Great Architect", oil on canvas 80 × 67 cm – 1800 Vevey (VD)

Description

Original oil on canvas by Marian Condruz, titled "Ochiul Marelui Arhitect în lumina descompusă", that is "The Eye of the Great Architect in decomposed light" (in English on the back: "Under the observation of the Great Architect"). 80 × 67 cm, signed lower right "Condruz". On the back, the artist has handwritten the title, the technique and the dimensions (see the last photo). A blue eye at the top of a pyramid, in an explosion of reds, yellows and pinks painted in thick layers, on a canvas with red-painted edges. The artist: Marian Condruz (Bucharest, 1952 – 2018) is a Romanian painter, trained at the Institute of Artistic Pedagogy in Romania and then at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris. Noted for his cubist period at his first solo exhibition in 1985, he exhibited in Romania, Austria, France (notably in Paris, including a group exhibition at the Hôtel de Crillon in 2006), Barcelona and Baltimore. His works come up for sale at Artmark, the main auction house in Bucharest: in 2025, an oil on canvas of 80 × 64 cm was estimated there at between 600 and 900 euros. I am also selling two other canvases by Marian Condruz, in separate listings. Hand delivery in Vevey.
